Utilizes the nursing process to identify patient needs and priorities of care through assessment, planning, and delegation of care based on patient needs, therapeutic interventions, and evaluation of the patient's response. Is held accountable for policies and procedures of the department and organization. This position supports the mission, vision, and philosophy of CommonSpirit Health .

ResponsibilitiesAssesses antepartal, intraprtal, and postpartal patients for risk factors, normal progress, symptoms of problems, and continuously monitor; detect changes in symptoms, health or pain, and take action as necessary; and quickly and accurately assess patient care needsResponds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocolSets priorities in plan of care based on assessed needs and anticipates personnel, supplies, and equipment required to care for patients based on assessed needsWorks collaboratively with provider to provide exceptional careAdministers medications, IV therapy, and treatments in compliance with policies and proceduresProvides patient and family educationRecords all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
Associate's Degree in Nursing
Required Licensure and Certifications
Licensed by the State of North Dakota Board of Nursing (RN)
Certification for Basic Life Support (BLS)
Certification for Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
6 - Month Grace Period
Certification for Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
12 - Month Grace Period
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training
Strong oral communications skills
Ability to deal with conflict and difficult people
Strong critical thinking skills
Knowledge of all regulatory agencies and their standards and processes
Ability to manage multiple priorities
