CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson part of CommonSpirit Heath a national nonprofit health system based in Englewood Colorado. The faith-based system operates in 18 states and includes 103 hospitals. Additional services offered within the system are: long-term care assisted and residential living communities community health services organizations home health agencies and numerous outpatient facilities.Utilizes the nursing process to identify patient needs and priorities of care through assessment, planning, and delegation of care based on patient needs and evaluation of the patients response. Is held accountable for policies and procedures of the department and organization. This position supports the mission, vision, and philosophy of CommonSpirit Health.Responsibilities:Provides assessment of and preparatory care for all surgical outpatients with an emphasis on anticipation and prevention of complicationsAssesses patients health and continuously monitors; detect changes in symptoms, health or pain, and take action as necessary; and quickly and accurately assess patient care needsResponds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocolCollaborates with other care staff to assure smooth transition for patient throughout the facility using proper hand off techniquesAdministers medications, IV therapy, and treatments in compliance with policies and proceduresProvides patient and family educationRecords all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms
Qualifications:Required Education and ExperienceAssociates Degree in NursingRequired Licensure and CertificationsRN: NDBLSACLSPALSRequired Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and TrainingStrong oral communications skillsAbility to deal with conflict and difficult peopleStrong critical thinking skillsKnowledge of all regulatory agencies and their standards and processesAbility to manage multiple priorities
