As the Maintenance & Reliability Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations of our Alabama plant, ensuring that all production processes, methods, and controls meet high standards for quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness. You will lead a diverse team, manage the plant's maintenance budget, and drive continuous improvement across our manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
Manage and mentor a team of 4 Maintenance Supervisors, 2 Engineers, a planner, a clerk, and 30+ mechanics and electricians across 4 shifts.Maintenance Oversight:
Direct daily maintenance activities, ensuring both scheduled and unscheduled repairs are executed efficiently to minimize downtime.Process Optimization:
Lead efforts to create efficient line operations that exceed quality, safety, and cost expectations.Training & Development:
Develop and coach team members at all levels to enhance people and equipment efficiency.Facility Planning:
Assist in optimizing plant layouts to maximize space and productivity.Equipment Management:
Oversee the design, development, and testing of new machinery and tools, including the safe introduction of new methods and processes.Continuous Improvement:
Implement lean manufacturing principles and process controls, utilizing advanced quality planning techniques (APQP, FMEA, mistake proofing).Compliance & Safety:
Ensure all changes and improvements comply with Engineering Change Notices (ECN) and safety regulations.Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate documentation for processes, equipment design, and facility layout.Capital Projects:
Support capital projects involving new equipment or structural upgrades.Budget Management:
Prepare and manage the maintenance budget to align with plant goals.Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in engineering.Experience:
At least 10 years in maintenance management within a TPM/WCM environment; 5-10 years in a leadership role supervising other supervisors.Skills:
Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, six-sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies. Experience with project management, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and safety programs.Additional Qualifications:
Project Management certification, Six-Sigma certification, MBA, or Master's in Project Management preferred.Technical Proficiency:
Effective with MS Excel, ERP, and SAP, with a strong ability to implement continuous improvement strategies.Interpersonal Skills:
Excellent communication, team-building, and conflict management skills, with a proven ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
