Ainsley Search Group is partnering with a global manufacturer in Chester County, PA to hire a Maintenance & Reliability Manager to lead maintenance operations with a focus on driving equipment reliability, automation performance, and process uptime. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an experienced maintenance professional with a strong engineering foundation who can balance day-to-day plant maintenance with long-term reliability strategy.
This position reports directly to the VP of Operations and is considered a key part of the plant’s succession planning for a future Plant Manager or Engineering Manager role. Main Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the maintenance team responsible for automated equipment, plant systems, and preventative/predictive maintenance programs.
- Own the maintenance and reliability roadmap , driving improvements to equipment uptime, work order completion, spare parts optimization, and PM compliance.
- Troubleshoot and support complex automation, controls, and PLC systems in coordination with engineering.
- Partner with the VP of Operations to plan and execute capital projects , upgrades, and root cause analysis efforts.
- Establish performance metrics (KPIs) and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with lean manufacturing, TPM, and Six Sigma practices.
- Provide training and mentorship to maintenance staff on maintenance best practices, safety, and reliability-focused tools.
- Manage the spare parts inventory, maintenance budget, and outsourced contractor support as needed.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with production, process engineering, and safety teams to ensure plant systems are operating efficiently and safely.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in a maintenance leadership or reliability role in a high-speed, high-volume manufacturing setting.
- Hands-on background in automation systems, electrical troubleshooting , and control systems (PLC, HMI).
- Experience leading preventive and predictive maintenance programs, CMMS systems, and spare parts optimization.
- Proven success implementing lean maintenance , RCA , and CI initiatives (5S, CAPA, Six Sigma, etc.).
- A collaborative leadership style and desire to grow into a more senior operations or engineering role over time.
