Position Purpose:

The Supply Chain/Materials Manager is responsible for source selection and procurement functions directly associated with the company's needs for raw materials, services, fixed assets, tooling, secured at cost, quality and delivery competitive levels consistent with company policy and industry performance standards.

Position Summary:

The primary job of the Supply Chain/Materials Manager is to negotiate pricing, terms, and annual contacts with suppliers, direct the purchasing and planning/scheduling team and effectively manage the supply chain process.

Requirements

Essential Duties:

1. Responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors

2. Forecast annual material, purchasing volumes, annual savings, tooling costs and repair budget

3. Evaluate vendor quotes and services to determine first in class suppliers

4. Initiates strategic purchase orders and amendments for materials, services, and/or special tools; arranged for submission and inspection of sample products as required; maintains close coordination with manufacturing and engineering to ensure timely execution of product and services sourcing activities

5. Studies market prices and trends, engineering developments, and manufacturing method improvements applicable to assigned responsibilities and company goals

6. Aggressively resolve all pricing, invoicing, and contract related issues with the suppliers

7. Create and maintain supplier metrics to assess quality for service, product, and process; communicates metrics to suppliers as appropriate and tracks corrective actions to completion

8. Managers cost savings, delivering annual direct and indirect goals. Coordinates and managers inventory targets for all raw material inventory levels while maximizing bulk discounts

9. Integrate material requirements planning functions with the sales and operation team, planning WIP requirement process to enable seamless execution of product planning

10. Minimizes risk of obsolescence by having the right part, right place, right time and at the right cost

11. Lead the search and implement breakthrough strategies that improve systems, methods, procedures, people, and processes as it applies to Supply Chain Management

12. Collaborate with manufacturing, accounting, and IT to drive improvements to materials and inventory management programs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Requirements:

1. 4 year degree in business, operations or supply chain management

2. 5+ years Manufacturing Supply Chain Management (planning and procurement)

3. In-depth working knowledge of ERP, MRP, Office 365, inventory management, supply chain concepts and manufacturing processes

4. Strong orientation for detail and high-quality standards

5. Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, capable of influencing key stake holders, collecting critical inputs and facilitate collective solutions

6. 3+ years experience with advance planning and scheduling (APS) systems and methodology, fundamental product engineering methods and Bills of Materials (BOM)

7. Experience in processional decision making, analytical, critical thinking and negotiating skills

8. Experience with progressive production and inventory control methods and techniques

9. Positive attitude, collaborative, and adept at ever changing priority

10. Certification a plus or willingness to obtain certification
