Position Summary:

Plan, coordinate and direct all quality related activities as it relates to Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) to ensure the products produced by Tedia Company exceeds/meets the established Standards and Specifications.

Essential Duties:Lead and direct the establishment, maintenance and compliance to Tedia's Quality Management System through work horizontally and vertically across functions.Coordinate with the Production, Operations and Customer Service departments to continue improving our service to customersFormulate and maintain Quality objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals.Perform the required duties as Tedia's Management RepresentativeEnsure maintenance of complete files of analytical test results, COAs, specifications and test methods, etc. and conduct training for all Quality staff on maintenance of the filing systemHelp to develop annual budgets for Quality Assurance & Quality Control (laboratory expenses, routine laboratory supplies, new equipment, etc).Coordinate and cooperate with the Production Manager to help the department produce high quality productsCoordinate with Environmental Health and Safety Manager to ensure that all appropriate personnel are trained to practice safety in the laboratory and the plant to comply with all OSHA safety regulationsCoordinate with Environmental Health and Safety Manager to ensure that all laboratory personnel are trained to handle hazardous waste as required by EPA and DOT regulationsEstablish and maintain procedures to calibrate laboratory equipment routinely. Keep calibration records as required by ISO certification. Ensure optimum laboratory equipment performance by scheduling regular repairs and maintenanceInterpret Quality philosophy to key personnel within the organizationAssist the Purchasing Department in evaluating raw material samples from vendors and help to purchase high-quality raw materials at the lowest costProvide regular feedback to management on all Quality related activities within the organizationProvide regular performance evaluation, feedback, and direction to subordinatesDevelop subordinates' skills and encourage their growthPerform other duties as assignedSupervisory Responsibility:

Lead a team of 1-2 supervisors and 2-4 professionals to complete and maintain company objectives

Required Education and Experience:

BS or higher degree in Chemistry or related field5 years of Quality Control and/or Quality Assurance experienceProcess & Method Validation experiencePreferred Education and Experience:

5 years' supervisory experience of Quality Systems and personnel

Work Environment /Physical Demands:

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment. Some of the work will require exposure to loud noises or fumes in the plant facility.

The physical demands of this job require employee to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
