Job Description Summary The Associate Director of Information Technology Solutions at the School of Professional Studies (SPS) is responsible for the implementation, management, and optimization of technology solutions that enhance the student experience, improve team productivity, and foster collaboration across the school. By leveraging best practices in information technology, the Associate Director will work closely with SPS staff, faculty and external partners to support innovation, scalability and operational efficiency that align with SPS's strategic goals. Key responsibilities include overseeing technology integration and operations, delivering exceptional user experiences and training programs, and managing technical support and facilities operations. The Associate Director will excel in the fast-paced, innovative culture of SPS, playing a key role in shaping critical aspects of our work with creative and forward-thinking solutions.

Job Description Essential Functions: Support and maintain SPS technology systems and applications, effectively identifying solutions, while ensuring consistency, security, and adherence to standards.

Act as the primary point of contact for all technology products and services at SPS, providing troubleshooting, training, and guidance on policies and procedures to enhance user experience.

Leverage technical expertise and project management skills to implement and support new and existing business and academic technologies that align with SPS's strategic goals.

Identify, recommend, and implement automation and technology solutions to streamline workflows, reduce manual tasks, and improve operational efficiency across SPS.

Support facilities operations, including the procurement and maintenance of technical and other equipment, supplies, and materials essential for SPS.

Provide support and coordination for on and off-campus events for the School, ensuring seamless execution of all technical aspects.

Develop, maintain, and enforce policies, procedures, and goals for information technology and facilities management in alignment with SPS's strategic objectives.

Manage and monitor the School's equipment inventory, ensuring accurate records and efficient resource utilization.

Collaborate with University Information Systems, other University partners, and external vendors to support the SPS information technology ecosystem.

This is a hybrid position (Tuesdays and Thursdays on-site) based in Charlotte, NC.

Other Functions: Collaborate with other University and/or external partners to ensure effective and efficient operations relevant to functional area.

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology/systems, or other closely related fields with five or more years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

General knowledge of academic technology platforms, including: student information systems, learning management systems, admissions systems, and/or customer relationship management systems. Understand core educational processes and associated technical solutions that support student engagement and learning.

Demonstrated proficiency in using cloud-based office tools, including Microsoft Office, Google platforms, and other relevant software

Ability to analyze data, detect patterns and trends, interpret situations, investigate problems, recommend solutions or actions, and maintain controls and data integrity.

Agile and adaptive in navigating change, ambiguity and challenges; while learning quickly, leveraging proactive problem-solving skills in a variety of situations, and displaying a flexible mindset.

Effective at managing projects, including project planning, execution and monitoring with a collaborative and proactive problem-solving approach.

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Master's degree in computer science, information technology/systems, or other closely related fields.

Information Technology management experience in a higher education setting.

Demonstrated proficiency with specific platforms, including Canvas and/or Workday Student.
