UHealth Financial Operations Hospital is currently seeking a full time Director, Finance to work in Miami. The Director, Finance directs and oversees all finance activities for assigned department(s), such as budget preparation, review and analysis of department financial performance reports, and preparation and review of productivity benchmarks. Moreover, the Director, Finance develops financial strategies that will ensure compliance with the budget parameters set for applicable department(s).
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Assists in preparation of miscellaneous business plans relating to assigned facility operations.
Participates in strategic long-range and tactical planning.
Performs economic evaluation of new programs and equipment.
Completes trend analyses and volume projections.
Develops strategic pricing and sensitivity analyses.
Initiates appropriate controls to ensure compliance with operating and capital budgets.
Works with other departments, staff, and external entities to undertake the budget preparation process effectively.
Monitors and summarizes the status of all financial targets.
Trains, mentors, and supervises department staff to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
Ensures internal control oversight and compliance with laws and regulations, safeguarding of assets, compliance with University policies and procedures, reliability of internal and external reporting, and efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
Creates an effective control environment, conducts risk assessment, implements and monitors controls.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:• Knowledge of business and management principles.• Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.• Ability to establish department goals, and objectives that support the strategic plan.• Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.• Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and train others.
Department Specific Functions
• Assist departments with labor management and oversight• Assist departments with daily gross charge evaluation and reconciliation • Assist department with performing economic evaluation of new programs/equipment• Assist executives in performing trend analyses and volume projections• Ensure compliance with operating and capital budget• Conduct financial analyses. Work closely with departments to trend and develop strategies that will ensure compliance with budgets• Assist in budget preparation process• Responsible for ensuring that all entity managers are provided training on all available financial systems and reports that are necessary to manage their departments• Responsible for monitoring and summarizing status of all financial targets for each department• Provide ad hoc analysis as needed
