General Summary of PositionMedStar Health is actively seeking a full-time Cyto Technologist working in our MedStar Health Franklin Square Medical center. General responsibility includes staining, mounts, and studies human body cells to detect evidence of cancer and other pathological conditions. Regional Support and assistance required. Strongly prefer ASCP certification.\r
\rPrimary Duties and ResponsibilitiesStandard Job Duty: Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.Assists in Fine Needle Aspiration preparations,Assists in the care and maintenance of departmental equipment and supplies.Centrifuges specimens in test tubes for filtration or slide preparationMaintains required records, reports, statistics, and files as directed.

\rMinimum QualificationsEducation
Bachelor's degree in Cytotechnology or biology or other life sciences with the completion of an accredited cytology program is required in Cytotechnology.
\rExperience
1-2 years related experience preferred.
\rLicenses and Certifications
ASCP - American Society of Clinical Pathologist ASCP certification strongly preferred
\rKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills required.

\rThis position has a hiring range of $34.98 -$59.26
