JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40Work Shift:
Day Shift
Summary of the Job:Provides administrative leadership for the Medical/Surgical Unit. Serve as a facilitator for staff in matters related to equipment, supplies and customer service. Able to demonstrate solid financial competency, effective interpersonal relationships, and service-oriented philosophy. Accountable for the effective delivery of competent, compassionate, and efficient care for the specific patient care unit(s) on a 24-hour basis.
Minimum Qualifications:
Current LA RN licensure. Three years clinical experience plus two years of progressive management experience required. Current BLS certification through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross. The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off.
Preferred Qualifications:
BSN and Master's degree preferred. ALS certification preferred. Preferred experience for this position includes: Telemetry experience for units with a cardiac focus.
Physical Demands:Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 20 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.Physical Effort required:Constant (67%-100%)- seeingFrequently (34%-66%)- lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, reaching, handling/feeling, talking, hearingOccasionally (1%-33%)- climbing (stairs, ladders, etc.), stooping, crouching
