The Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing the activities of Purchasing Agents and collaborating with Supply Chain and cross-functional teams. This role is critical in sourcing direct and indirect materials, managing the Supply Chain to ensure quality, timely delivery, and optimal Total Cost of Ownership.

Essential Procurement Duties and Responsibilities:

Plan and oversee the work of Purchasing Agents, while actively supporting the development of their skills.Maintain and develop supplier relationships, including metric reporting and performance goal setting.Implement process improvement and cost reduction initiatives.Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms and conditions.Develop procurement rules and guidelines for obtaining price quotes, accepting bids, and selecting vendors.Participate in short-term and long-range planning and budget development to support strategic business goals.Develop contingency plans to address potential supply chain disruptions.Purchase goods and services for the company.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work closely with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to align sourcing strategies with business needs.Collaborate with logistics and inventory management teams to optimize the supply chain.Cooperate with Sourcing team to assist in new product development projects by providing detailed working knowledge of supply base and commoditiesProvide Master Scheduling and Sales/Marketing teams with accurate lead times for critical materials to ensure realistic scheduling and planning

Skills and Abilities:

Minimum 5 years of sourcing and/or procurement experience.Proficiency in procurement software and tools.Ability to manage projects, establish clear goals, and ensure successful delivery.Excellent presentation and communication skills.Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and leadership skills.
