HealthCare Support is actively seeking a
Pharmacy ADU Technician to fill an opening in
Vinton, VA.
Daily Responsibilities for
Pharmacy ADU Technician:
Fills prescription items, as permitted by the State Board of Pharmacy, packaging medications for dispensing and for delivery, meeting the accuracy and productivity standards of the pharmacyLabels products appropriately, including cautionary or auxiliary labelsParticipates in the periodic inventory of the pharmacyMay check in drugs and supplies, stock shelves and remove out-of-date items from the inventoryPrepares medications including emulsions, liquids, powders and ointments, which may include non-sterile compoundingCommunicates with internal and external customers in a pleasant and professional mannerMay process returned medications from the facility for credit or destructionAssists in the training of new employeesAlso performs at least one of the following:
Works in the Controlled Drugs (Narcotics) Room;Works with automated machine to prepack drugs;Manages inventory functions such as monitoring pharmaceutical levels and identify expired medications, managing to the pharmacy standard for Days on Hand;Inputs patient data and medication orders into a computer system to produce labels (data entry);Mixes/packages IV medications, sanitizes IV room, equipment and hoodServices facility-based medication dispensing machines (e.g., RxNow)Performs other tasks as assigned
Monday - Friday 9am-6pm with possibility of weekend shift.Required Qualifications for
Pharmacy ADU Technician:
High School Diploma or equivalent; National PTCB Technician Certification desired50 - 60% travel required which may include overnightsKnowledge of Omnicell/BD - MedbankLicenses/Certifications: As required by state regulations. Active pharm tech license required in state of VA.Valid VA drivers license
Preferred Qualifications for
Pharmacy ADU Technician:
2+ years' experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a specialty pharmacy setting
