REQUIREMENTS:CPR Certification (Mandatory)Licensed Physical Therapy (Required)Preferred 1-2 years experience in long-term care.Good physical and mental health.Capability to perform all physical duties of the position, including lifting up to 40 pounds unassisted.Ability to follow oral and written instructions.Possess training, knowledge, and experience for general supervision responsibilities.
REPORTING:
The Physical Therapist reports to the Rehabilitation Director.
JOB DUTIES:Understanding of physical medicine, physical therapy modalities, anatomy, and physiology.Basic knowledge of operating physical therapy machines, as well as their maintenance and repair.Administering treatment and rehabilitation services to patients with injuries or disabilities. Conducting exercises for residents.Providing treatment under the supervision of the staff Physical Therapist. Adherence to physical medicine practice standards.Observing and assessing treatment effects, discussing observations with staff and Physical Therapist.Monitoring and documenting resident treatment and responses.Assist in developing a teaching plan based on learning needs and evaluating its effectiveness. Involve the family in teaching when appropriate. Inform staff and the Physical Therapist of outcomes.
