Field Safety Manager
with strong Infrastructure and Heavy Civil experience to join our growing construction division. The Field Safety Manager will oversee all aspects of a project-specific safety program on complex construction projects. The person selected for this role will assist project and safety management in the oversight and execution of the project's health and safety program in accordance with regulatory requirements, client obligations, and project goals in a manner that integrates our SEE Safety In Action philosophy into the project to achieve our goal of zero-incidents.Responsibilities:Ensure safety and health policies and procedures are being adhered to in accordance with OSHA, state, and local regulations, and the Site-Specific Safety Plan.Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure that health and safety activities are incorporated effectively into project work plans.Verify subcontractors are completing work in accordance with the Site-Specific Safety Plan.Review JHA's and work plans with project management and supervision to ensure thorough hazard identification and controls are in placeFacilitate project safety orientation and training requirements.Conduct safety inspections and document findings and corrective actions.Ensure emergency action plans are in place and working effectively.Provide mentoring, direction, and subject matter expertise to project personnel.Communicate effectively with representatives of regulatory agencies/customers to resolve compliance issues and provide requested information.Support incident investigations and ensure accurate and thorough documentation in accordance with company and project requirements.Maintain open communication with the safety management and project supervision.Champion our SEE Safety In Action philosophy to achieve zero-incident project completion
Qualifications:Minimum of 3 years of experience and success as a site safety manager, or equivalent role.OSHA 30-Hour Construction CardCompetent Person: Fall Protection, Excavation/Trenching, Confined SpaceCPR/First Aid/AED certificationAbility to problem solve and implement solutions in challenging work environmentsStrong understanding of the safety and health regulations of heavy civil constructionDetail oriented with exceptional organization skillsProficient with technology and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) with the ability to effectively learn and adapt to new software and applications as neededExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to articulate ideas, solutions, needs, and requirements to all levels of employees and to external parties as required.Strong interpersonal skills that enable team building, collaboration, and conflict resolution.Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field preferredCHST certification, preferredWillingness to be location-based for a 12-24 month project duration.
