The role of the Safety Manager is to build and maintain a positive safety culture atWebstaurant StoresCumberland facility. Responsibilities include training, recordkeeping, facility inspections, incident investigations, and project coordination.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

Personally train employeesonworkplace safety policies and procedures

Maintain, develop, and update safety training programs, policies, and procedures

Ensure that all employee safety and training records are complete, organized, and available

Ensure that all work is performed according to facility safety policies, regulatory guidelines, and best practices

Complete regular inspections to ensure a hazard-free workplace and OSHA compliance (including other regulatory agencies, such as DOT, FDA, NFPA, etc.)

Complete safety audits to ensure practices and procedures are relevant andup to date

Conduct and review incident investigations relating to injuries, equipment, and near-misses

Conduct Risk Assessments and Job Safety Analysis to identify problem areas and find solutions

Provide guidance to management on matters relating to safety

Lead and coordinate meetings and projects with warehouse safety committee

Promote a positive safety culture

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelors or graduate degree in Safety Management, Occupational Safety and Health, or equivalent degree3-5+ years of experience in safety management or related field

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

OSHA 10, OSHA 30 General Industry trainingStrong verbal and written communication skillsShow initiative to work with minimal instruction and directionExhibit analytical thinking and problem solvingDisplay organizational ability, strong attention to detailManage conflicts effectively, with interpersonal skills and an ability to motivate othersCustomer service-oriented attitude with a demonstrated desire to exceed expectations

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work is performed while standing and/or walking, up to and including 10 hours/day

Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing

Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations

Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching

Requires the ability to regularly lift / carry 50-75lbs. and push / pull up to 150lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. Occasional activities may involve exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes and gases.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The passage of employees through the work area is average and normal.
