Job Description:

GENERAL PURPOSE:

Oversees and performs the installation and fixing of signs to ensure that installations meet technical construction and installation standards. During an installation, a supervisor manages a team of installers to ensure that the position of a sign, or the method used for fixing a sign to a building or structure, follow the engineer's design. They also ensure that the installation follows planning guidelines, for example if digging/excavation is required, and that the work of installers meets safety standards. This is a "working supervisor" position. It is likely that 10% of the selected person's time will be on scheduling and managing and 90% in the field working

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervises and schedules sign installations and services, including materials, staff and sub-contractors ensuring safe and efficient installation and service is consistently delivered

Oversees projects in the shop and field and troubleshoots and resolves problemsConducts safety trainingCompletes paperwork and maintains recordsDrives YESCO sign and equipment vehicles to customer locationsInstalls interior and exterior lighting, cabinet signs, neon signs, and LED signs adhering to proper code and regulationsInterpret plans and diagramsDraw up inspection schedulesMARGINAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manages maintenance and tracks fleet vehicles and equipmentPerforms other functions as necessary or as assignedNATURE OF WORK CONTACTS :

Interacts with customers both on the telephone and onsite regarding installation and service issuesInteracts with installation journeyman, apprentices, helpers and sub-contractorsInteracts with engineers, production staff, account executives and other departmentsTRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS :

A High School Diploma or GED and six or more years of relevant experience involving demonstrated abilities in management and construction, including welding, operation of heavy equipment, crane and forklift, power tools, electrical experience, and reading blueprints and work orders; or any combination of training, education and experience which provides the following knowledge, abilities, and skills.

Ability to organize, prioritize and coordinate multiple work activities to meet critical deadlines, as well as working independently

Ability to communicate and interact effectively and tactfully with a wide variety of individuals in person, via telephone and in writingMust be able to read and follow blueprints and specifications and apply excellent mathematical skills for proper installationAbility to operate computer, telephone, and other office equipmentAbility to operate heavy equipment and perform welds to install signsAbility to adhere to safety rules and regulationsKnowledge of electrical installation (NEC codes, etc.)Knowledge of LED lighting and signaling systems preferredStrong work ethic with an enthusiastic, positive attitude, and the highest level of integrityValid Class B CDL License requiredExperience with bucket truck operationMaintain regular and timely attendance

Must be able to occasionally move objects in excess of 75 lbs and operate heavy equipment. Specific vision abilities include: clarity of vision at 20 inches or less; ability to adjust eye to bring an object into sharp focus.
