Base Salary: $186,000-259,000Location: NYC or San Jose (Onsite)
Who You Are:
We are seeking a Senior Finance Manager with a primary focus on managing all the reporting requirements associated with money transmission licenses ("MTLs").
As part of the Accounting Team, you will be responsible for all activities under our Payments entity, including setting up, preparing and submitting periodic (e.g. monthly, quarterly and annual) financial reports to US state regulators, producing ad-hoc reports for examinations, audits, or research, managing tax registration, tax filings, accounting close, and financial statements.
What You'll Do
Set up data for regulatory reporting,Keep up to date with regulatory changes and implement the changes to the reportings as required,Perform the accounting close for Payments, including accruals, accounts reconciliations, flux analysis,Prepare periodic (e.g. quarterly and annual) financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, statements of cash flows, statements of equity)Submit periodic (e.g. monthly, quarterly, annual) financial reports to US state regulators.Write queries to extract data from multiple databases and compose reports for submission.Assist with the administration of MTL examinations or independent reviews and audits.Organize, archive and manage company reporting records.Participate in and/or lead certain financial-related projects such as research.Communicate with US state money service regulators, directly (e.g. phone call or email) or by accessing the reporting portals: NMLS or state reporting websites.Prepare reports for direct and indirect tax compliance obligations.Submit monthly indirect tax filings with the local state and city as needed.Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulationsSupport company strategic initiatives.Qualifications:
5+ years of professional experience with financial reporting.Ideally worked for a company that was financially-regulated by MTL regulators.Proficient in database query languages like SQL, GraphQL, BigQuery, SigmaCPA preferredExperience in Big 4, financial technology, and banks preferredProficient understanding of US GAAPProficient with financial reporting tools such as but not limited to:Microsoft Excel, Google SheetsTableauOracleAlteryx
Able to build reporting tablesAble to present and articulate financial transactionsAble to navigate through the NMLS system.Understanding of financial regulations such as BSA/AML, Regulation E, UDAAPAbility to quickly learn and adapt.
