The Director of Finance is responsible for but not limited to the resort’s financial plans and policies, accounting practices, maintenance of its fiscal records, preparation of all financial reports, and implementation of finance strategy in addition to providing supervision over general accounting, internal auditing, and budgetary controls.
Essential Functions:
Analysis and interpretation of statistical and accounting information to evaluate results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and overall effectiveness of the organization.
Maintain the resorts system of accounts which includes keeping of the books, records, and all resort transactions and assets.
Organizes and directs the preparation of the budgets, analysis and reports the variances.
Responsible for tax organizing and planning
Oversee employee payroll
Evaluates and advises on insurance coverage
Develop clear and informative methods to present financial data and special projects
Prepares reports and monitors findings that outlines the resort’s financial position in the areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and future operations.
Recommends changes to improve systems and financial performance
Responsible for overseeing the Accounting Department’s personnel, performance evaluations, necessary training, and disciplinary action if/when needed.
Requirements:
BA/BS Degree in Accounting/Finance
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial management and professional accountancy
Excellent computer skills
Experience in resort finances preferable
