St. Bernard Community Health Center is a member of the Access Health Louisiana Network. Located in Chalmette, Louisiana, St. Bernard Community Health Center offers comprehensive primary and preventive healthcare services for our local community. We are seeking a Family or Internal Medicine Physician to join our growing team.

AHL is committed to making sure that everyone in Southeast Louisiana has "access" to high quality, affordable and convenient care. Our community health centers operate in "high-need" areas where access to care is difficult. No patient is ever turned away for treatment at any of our clinics due to their ability to pay. The successful Family Practice or Internal Medicine Physician candidate will have or obtain an unrestricted license in the State of Louisiana and have full prescriptive authority.

Position Summary:

The Physician provides patient care services by independently and interdependently scheduling, supervising, and/or conducting diagnostic and therapeutic procedures; independently participates in the delivery of direct patient care with in the scope of authority granted by the Louisiana State Board of Medicine and following Access Health Louisiana protocols and standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Current Louisiana MD license and knowledge of their scope of practice. Must possess a MD degree with a concentration in the respective specialty from an accredited college or university. Must possess a certification by a nationally recognized certifying body. Current CPR Certifications Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills. Bilingual preferred. Calm, professional attitude in stressful situations and interactions. High level of ethics in maintaining patient confidentiality. Excellent analytical skills to assess and evaluate patient needs and develop and implement a care plan. Has met all pre-employment requirements for an employee of AHL. PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Handles a multitude of tasks simultaneously. Deals with and/or solves stressful situations. Stands and walks most of the day. Reads gauges, digital read outs, graphs and educational material, and patient charts in English (Visual acuity) Communicates effectively with patients, physicians, and other staff in verbal and written form. Provides safe and effective care. Moves from room to room and maneuvers in small spaces; exam rooms and workspaces. Maintains professional composure under stress as in emergency situations.
