Grain Operations Trainee (Multiple Locations Available)

Job Summary:
The Operations Trainee is responsible for learning the fundamentals of facility operations and logistics, as well as inventory management. Training is conducted within a mentorship framework, necessitating a high degree of interaction with management. The Operations Trainee is given progressive responsibility and customer contact within the facility management program which will help develop the necessary skills to safely and profitably manage a facility. This program takes anywhere between 9 to 18 months depending on individual performance and company needs.
Essential Job Functions:
Effectively operate and maintain the facility and machineryFacilitate product shipment and deliveryLearn processes and skills for proper grain grading, conditioning and monitoringBlend products to meet customer needs and maximize profitabilityDevelop and implement plant safety controlsDevelop a working knowledge of the relationship between operations and merchandising teamsInform Superintendent and/or Location Manager of any safety hazards, environmental issues or system deficiencies in the workplaceDemonstrate regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work, meetings and completing assignmentsAssist in leading workers onsite, including contractors, temps, and service providersAssist in providing leadership and ensure compliance with all required safety, regulatory, environmental, and company programs, including Federal, State, and Local regulations regarding Occupation Health and Safety, Environmental Protection, and Operational Permit requirementsOther Job Functions:
Other Duties as assignedProvide excellent customer service and assist customers as neededRegulate record keeping for all incidents according to health and safety standardsRecommend process improvements as necessaryAssist Superintendent and Location Manager with crew development and training as neededQualifications/Education/Experience/Skills:
Ability to work and interact well with othersSecondary education in Agriculture, Operations, Manufacturing, or related field
preferredStrong organizational, communication, analytical, and problem solving skillsPositive and self-motivated attitudeFarming background a plusSpecial Demands:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands, kneel, and benExposure to moderate to loud noise within the work environment.Exposure to heavy concentrations of grain dust.Ability to frequently move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.Ability to frequently wear personal protective equipment correctly, including respirators, fall protection, safety glasses, hard hat, etc.Ability to climb stairs and ladders.Ability to comfortably work at heights of approximately 200 ft.Ability to work in outdoor work environment, including various climates, weather conditions, and inclement weather, approximately 80% of the time.Ability to perform all job responsibilities with necessary special demands for up to 8 hours per day.
