Description

Summary ObjectiveThe Program Manager oversees Human Services Department programs, ensuring effective service delivery. Responsibilities include program development, strategic planning, community engagement, supporting staff through multidisciplinary meetings, preparing reports on systemic barriers, coordinating monthly in-service training for professionals, and identifying key training and professional development opportunities for department staff.Examples of Duties

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSThe essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.Managing and overseeing the delivery of human services programs to ensure they are effective, efficient, and meet the needs of service populations.Ensuring that all programs and services comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as organizational policies and standards.Designing and developing new programs or modifying existing ones based on the needs assessment and best practices in the field.Engaging in strategic planning activities to set program goals, objectives, and outcomes, and developing plans to achieve them.Building and maintaining relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and service populations to foster collaboration and support for programs.Organizing and coordinating monthly in-service training sessions for local professionals to enhance their skills and knowledge.Identifying key training and professional development opportunities for department staff to ensure they remain current with best practices and regulatory changes.Implementing quality assurance measures to ensure that programs meet established standards and deliver high-quality services to clients.Advocating for clients by addressing systematic barriers to service and working to improve access and equity in service delivery.Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.Typical Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Public Health, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, Community Development, or a related field. Master's preferred, including Master of Social Work (MSW), Master of Public Health (MPH), Master of Human Services (MSHS), or a related field.Minimum five (5) years' experience in human services, including case management, advocacy, crisis intervention, community outreach, healthcare navigation, or related fields.Knowledge of federal, state, and local human services regulations.Supervisory experience preferred.SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history.

Supplemental Information

All applicants tentatively selected for a position with Beaufort County Council will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for the illegal use of drugs and to a background check prior to appointment. Employment is contingent upon clearing both the drug screening and background investigation.
