POSITION DEFINITION:
Under the supervision of the Director of Special Education or designee, the Speech and Language Pathologist will provide instruction for students with disorders or deviations of language, speech or hearing.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES: Assess and diagnose speech, language, and hearing disorders. Coordinate and establish an individualized appropriate therapy program. Understand and expedite Federal Law 94-142 as it pertains to speech, language, and hearing services. Maintain complete and accurate records of attendance accounting data. Assist parents and teachers in understanding and implementing therapeutic goals for individual children and students. Acquaint parents, staff, and community members with the program and its objective.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Possession of a valid California Language, Speech and Hearing License/Credential or a Clinical Rehabilitative Services Credential. Bilingual preferred.
