The Department of Radiology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. The ideal candidate should be American Board of Radiology certified or eligible with sub-specialty training in an ACGME-approved abdominal imaging fellowship program.

Teaching responsibilities may include daily clinical supervision and teaching of residents and fellows during readouts and conferences and participating in interdisciplinary conferences with clinical subspecialties. The education of medical students will be limited to those rotating through the Department of Radiology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, and Pennsylvania Hospital. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for preparing learning materials and lectures, teaching posters, and presentations for national review.

Clinical responsibilities may include Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Ultrasound, and Fluoroscopy of the body. Prior experience in image-guided biopsy is highly desirable but not required. The successful candidate will also participate in the Abdominal Imaging off-hour on-call program, including evenings, nights, and weekend coverage.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include developing a focused body of research in the field of Abdominal Imaging. This may include clinical and translational studies of novel approaches to imaging in the body, the evaluation of the impact of imaging to diagnose diseases in the body, or research into operational aspects of imaging and clinical diagnosis within the health care system. The successful candidate must have prior research experience and have demonstrated evidence of peer-reviewed scholarship. Ample support and mentorship for research will be provided.

Penn Radiology provides clinical services for the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP), Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC), Pennsylvania Hospital (PAH), Philadelphia Veteran Affairs Medical Center (PAVMC), as well as affiliated outpatient imaging centers located in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
