Job Purpose:

The Director of Operations will spearhead operational excellence across Gusto Group's diverse restaurant and catering concepts, ensuring each brand not only meets but exceeds its financial, operational, and customer satisfaction goals. This role demands a visionary leader who can closely collaborate with ownership and executive chefs to maintain consistency across brands, develop and implement effective standard operating procedures, and drive innovative marketing and sales strategies to boost revenue and enhance guest experiences.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Operations & Strategic Leadership:

Directly work with ownership to align operations with the company's vision across all brands. Oversee and optimize all aspects of business operations, including sales enhancement, profit maximization, standard operating procedures development, and compliance with company policies. Develop and mentor the management team, fostering a culture of excellence, compliance, and continuous improvement. Lead initiatives for efficient hiring, training, and development of management personnel across all concepts. Design and execute contests and training programs in collaboration with managers to promote brand values and operational efficiency. Financial Oversight & Growth Strategies:

Collaborate with ownership and executive management to monitor food and liquor costs, ensuring they meet company targets. Implement and oversee effective budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes for all locations. Drive promotional and marketing initiatives to increase revenue from events, catering, and special occasions. Engage in active networking and public relations efforts to elevate Gusto Group's market presence and brand reputation. Foster relationships with suppliers, partners, and community organizations to secure the best terms and opportunities for business growth and sustainability. Operational Excellence & Compliance:

Establish and maintain high standards for food quality, safety, and regulatory compliance across all operational areas. Lead quality audits, ensuring all locations adhere to the highest standards of operation and customer service. Manage and improve inventory control practices, reducing waste and optimizing ordering and stocking procedures. Update and enforce employee handbooks and operational manuals to ensure compliance and consistency across brands. Resolve customer and staff issues promptly, maintaining a positive brand image and workplace environment. Marketing & Customer Engagement:

Oversee the development and implementation of a congruent F&B program across the brands, enhancing menu offerings and guest satisfaction. Coordinate with sales and marketing to develop strategies that enhance brand visibility and attract more events and catering opportunities. Utilize creative marketing techniques and social media platforms to promote special events, driving increased foot traffic and revenue. Deliverables and Goals:

Financial Performance:

Deliver a 10% year-over-year increase in overall profitability across all brands by optimizing cost management and enhancing revenue streams. Achieve quarterly budget targets with a maximum variance of 5%.

Operational Efficiency:

Implement new or improved operational procedures that result in a 15% reduction in operational inefficiencies and waste across all locations within the first year. Achieve a 20% improvement in inventory turnover ratio through better supply chain management and procurement processes.

Customer Satisfaction and Loyalty:

Increase customer satisfaction scores by 20% through enhanced service quality and customer engagement strategies. Develop and launch a loyalty program that results in a 25% increase in repeat business.

Employee Engagement and Retention:

Improve employee satisfaction scores by 15% through targeted development programs, feedback mechanisms, and engagement initiatives. Reduce staff turnover by 20% by improving hiring practices, training programs, and creating clear career pathways for progression.

Sales Growth from Events and Catering:

Generate a 30% increase in sales from events and catering services by developing new offerings and aggressive marketing strategies. Expand the events and catering client base by 25% through networking, partnerships, and promotional activities.

Brand Expansion and Market Penetration:

Open or acquire 2 new restaurant concepts or locations within the first 18 months, meeting the strategic goals of the Gusto Group. Increase market share by 10% in existing markets through targeted marketing campaigns and community engagement.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:

Ensure 100% compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards across all operations. Implement a quality assurance program that results in a 95% or higher compliance rate in all internal and external audits.

Team Development and Leadership:

Develop a management training program to identify and groom future leaders, with at least 5 managers ready for upward mobility within the first year. Conduct quarterly leadership workshops focused on strategic planning, conflict resolution, and innovation.
