Job Summary:
This position provides outpatientorthopedic & sports physical therapy services primarily to a pediatricpopulation from school age through adolescence/young adulthood. The applicantshould be adept and comfortable independently managing the complete continuumof professional services from patient access to appropriate coding and billingpractices according to legal/ethical guidelines and hospital policy. Performsevaluations, program planning, and treatment of patients using exercise, neuromuscularreeducation, joint and soft tissue mobilization, taping, electricalstimulation, thermal modalities, etc. specific to age, athletic activity, anddevelopmental/functional level determined by assessment. This position willdemonstrate an understanding of billing and coding practices as appropriate forprofessional outpatient services and its revenue cycle.
Education Requirements:
BS or higher degree from a schoolaccredited by the American Physical Therapy Association.Experience Requirements:
Sports/Orthopedic physical therapysetting2 years experience treating,coaching or teaching ages 7-182 years of athletic experience asa player, coach, official, etc., preferredCertification/License/Registry Requirements:
Arizona State Board of PhysicalTherapy license, prior to start dateBLS for healthcare providers fromthe American Heart Association prior to start date.Holds, or is eligible to obtain aNational Provider Identifier (NPI) to render and bill for independent professionalservices prior to start date.PREFERRED Certification/License/Registry:
Certified Clinical Specialist(SCS, OCS)Certified Strength andConditioning Specialist (CSCS)Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC)Dry Needling CertificationTool Augmented Soft TissueMobilization CertificationKinesiology or Specialty TapingCertification
