Role Summary:

Under the general supervision of the VP of Accounting and Finance, the Finance Manager/Team Leader is responsible for providing strategic leadership over, and the management of, Asset and Liability Management (ALM) modeling and reporting, liquidity reporting, profitability analytics, the credit union's budgetary processes, administration of the investment portfolio, as well as other functions of the finance and investment departments of the credit union. The Finance Manager/Team Leader will oversee the development, reporting, and monitoring of the credit union's various incentive plans, provide ongoing recommendations to improve incentive plan performance in alignment with the credit union's strategic goals and business. The Finance Manager/Team Leader supports the responsibilities of the VP of Accounting and Finance of the credit union. As an integral part of the strategic planning processes of the credit union, the Finance Manager/Team Leader will provide finance and risk analytics and strategic recommendations to senior leadership which can lead to improved operational efficiencies for the credit union.

What You Will Be Doing: Assist senior leadership in developing short and long-term financial goals and objectives. Provide strategic recommendations which will enhance the financial health of the credit union through lower operational costs, increased revenues, or improved organizational processes. Support the VP of Accounting and Finance with credit union projects such as strategic and business planning processes, merger and acquisition analysis, and loan participation sales. Provide leadership and management skills. Coordinate the day-to-day activities for the Finance Team to ensure timely and accurate completion of assigned duties and tasks. Provide career development and coaching to the Finance team members. Monitor profitability and prepare analysis and recommendations. Lead the monthly ALM model update processes. Review and analyze results. Prepare and present model results to the credit union's ALCO (Asset-Liability Management Committee). Provide strategic recommendations and guidance to manage balance sheet risk. Coordinate the implementation of ALM strategies throughout the credit union. Develop, maintain, and support accurate analytical models for evaluating, benchmarking, and monitoring the profitability and efficiency of various lending assets, services, and lines of business. Develop and maintain an expert level of knowledge regarding loan portfolio analysis software, loan origination system, collections software, core operating system, data warehouse, profitability software, risk rating models, and other business analysis tools and software. Ensure regulatory and policy reporting requirements are met for lending functions of the credit union. Recommend to the ALCO and senior management necessary pricing, risk rating, and policy structures to improve performance and profitability of credit union products. Act independently to create, implement, and manage effective programs to document and analyze Gesa business processes and operational outcomes to discover insights that will guide strategic decisions and uncover opportunities for operational improvements. Communicate the goals of the Finance Department to management and credit union staff. Provide interest rate risk data to support ALCO understanding and decision making related to balance sheet management and product pricing. Interact with third parties providing financial and risk analytics for strategy and model validation purposes. Lead the bi-annual ALM model validation process and provides recommendations for adjustments to the model inputs and assumptions. Ensure the credit union is positioned appropriately to meet its liquidity needs by leading the liquidity forecasting, stress-testing, and reporting processes. Manage and administer the credit union's profitability system. Analyze and report on the profitability of all aspects of the credit union including products, strategic business units, members, and officers. Provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership regarding the credit union products, services, and pricing. Lead the preparation of the annual credit union-wide budget. Provide leadership and oversight during the construction of the annual budget and data input. Review and analyze the budget results and provide recommendations regarding the budget. Present the finalized budget to senior leadership and the credit union's Board of Directors. Lead the credit union's semi-annual five-year forecasting process. Serve as the primary budget support contact for credit union management. Lead the management of the credit union's investment portfolio. Thoroughly understand all aspects of credit union approved investments. Make investment decisions and place investment trades in accordance with credit union procedures, policies, and investment strategies. Analyze trends in finance, investments, sales, economic and general credit union business conditions. Provide reporting and recommendations to senior management to aid in strategic decision making for the credit union. Lead ad hoc financial analysis projects in support of key organizational metrics and objectives. Collaborate with departments and committees, such as ALCO and Credit Risk, to coordinate strategies, monitor profitability, and prepare analysis and recommendations. Collaborate with outside auditors and examiners during annual audits and regulatory examinations. Lead the audit and exam processes as related to the finance department of the credit union and serve as the primary contact for finance. Display leadership values such as trust and dignity, respect and acting in the best interest of the credit union. Lead by example by displaying solid ethics and integrity at all times. Control risk and operate in a safe and sound manner. Oversee the development, reporting, and monitoring of the credit union's various incentive plans and provide ongoing recommendations to improve incentive plan performance in alignment with the credit union's strategic goals and business plans. Maintain and protect all sensitive data utilizing the highest standard of confidentiality and professionalism. Consistently display respect for all areas of diversity and levels of knowledge. Attend credit union training sessions, conferences, and seminars as approved by supervisor. Maintain awareness of NCUA rules and regulations, NCUA and credit union bylaws, and policies. Ascertain possible impact to investment functions. Serve on committees as assigned. About You:

Demonstrated advanced skills in analysis, problem solving, and reporting. Comprehensive understanding of Asset-Liability Management and cash flow modeling and reporting Ability to successfully coach and mentor staff to ensure staff are well trained, effective, and optimally utilized. Ability to conduct performance reviews and other performance management needs as required. Familiarity with and knowledge of credit union and NCUA rules and regulations as it pertains to finance, investments, and general credit union business conditions. Demonstrated attention to detail and skills in prioritizing and organization of work. Strong spreadsheet skills as well as excellent mathematical and analytical skills. Ability to quickly grasp and adapt to changes in business models and new technologies. Ability to maintain thorough knowledge of credit union business lines, processes, and products. Excellent listening and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to learn information needs of the organization and to communicate information and ideas both verbally and in writing. Ability to motivate staff and coworkers and work jointly and successfully in a team environment. Ability to display exceptional customer service attributes. What You Will Need:

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Seven to ten years of progressive experience in related financial positions. Credit Union or financial institution experience desired. Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, or business-related field required. MBA, CFA, or other relevant designation preferred. Experience and working knowledge of CECL preferred. Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy consistently displayed in communication with members, coworkers, and vendors. Proficiency with standard office equipment and computer software programs utilized in required duties. Some travel is required to complete credit union training, attend employee meetings/events, and to fulfill duties and responsibilities.
