Teamvantage, a Velosity Company is searching for a Director of Operations to support our manufacturing facility in Forest Lake, MN. This position is responsible for developing and driving process improvements and ensuring efficient production while maintaining high quality and delivery standards within a 3 shift, 24x7 contract manufacturing environment. The incumbent ensures that sales growth targets are met and is directly engaged in supporting the sales process to win new business. This is an on-site position supporting our Forest Lake location. Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience in leading technical staff within a molding operations or machining environment, with at least 8 years in a managerial or leadership role. Proven experience in managing large-scale molding operations, preferably in industries such as plastics and medical devices. Strong background and experience in thermoplastic injection molding Mold and tool making experience is highly desired. Experience in a contract manufacturing environment highly desired. Successful experience with developing, leading, and implementing KPIs for operations Proven experience delivering on safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people processes, systems and metrics. Six sigma certification is a plus. Skills, Knowledge, Abilities Skills: Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop teams. Excellent organizational and planning skills, attention to detail, and thorough desire for continuous improvement Enterprise business skills including document processing, spreadsheets, communication systems, presentation skills and related office software, business operating systems and tools Knowledge: Understanding of component and/or mold manufacturing and injection molding (materials, processes, and secondary operations) is required Comprehensive understanding of molding materials, equipment, and tooling. Knowledge of engineering or technical operations including experience in product/engineering management Proficiencies in lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies. Knowledge of automation and Industry technologies as applied to molding processes. Financial acumen to manage budgets, allocate resources, and optimize costs. Proficiency in using manufacturing software, data analysis tools, and ERP systems. Detailed and practical understanding of QMS, ISO:13485, FDA certification, ISO:9001, AS9100D, ITAR (preferred) etc. Understanding of the medical device/life sciences/pharmaceutical industries, preferably with OEM experience in operations, new product development, program management and R&D Knowl dge of engineering and technical operations Abilities: Strong business acumen and strategic thinking ability Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing market conditions and drive innovation within the organization. Ability to drive process improvement Ability to travel approximately 10% Essential Duties: Develop and implement strategies to optimize manufacturing processes, reduce cycle times, and improve overall operational efficiency. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards in all molding operations Recruit, hire, coach, and develop a high performing team of Operations leaders and independent contributors and maintain a team-oriented work environment. Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean methodologies, Six Sigma principles, and other relevant tools to enhance productivity and product quality Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production, quality, and efficiency, and take corrective actions as needed Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in molding and manufacturing Develop and implement efficiencies in operating costs to gain operating leverage. Implement initiatives for process optimization, automation, integration, and implementation of new technologies to improve productivity and quality. Support the development of deeper relationships with customers - seeks customer relationships to drive knowledge and strategic input. Support customer qualifications and trials as required Keep up to date on advances within the industry market as it relates to new features and operational capabilities. Licensing/Registration/Certification: Valid identification and the ability to work legally in the United States. Work Conditions & Physical Demands: Teamvantage is a non-smoking, climate controlled, professional injection molding facility. The manufacturing environment may be subject to airborne contaminants and chemical odors as would be customary in an injection molding facility. Walking and stair climbing is required within the facility. Sitting, standing, turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending and flexing the arms, legs, wrists, and fingers are physical requirements. Must have correctable eyesight and good depth perception. Must be able to walk, sit and occasionally climb and balance.
