Overview:
Reporting to the Market Strategy Director, this role will perform varied new business development related activities to support the Market Team strategies and to support and drive service and sales metrics. Develops, sets strategy, and coordinates new business initiatives within Agency Sales, Product Management, Insurance Agency Operations and Marketing to expand market potential of the product lines. Responsible for Carrier Relationship team which establishes a preferred carrier list and ensures the business is aligned with the revenue targets we obtain via commission and bonus. Responsible for understanding and developing a growth plan inclusive of the execution and IT work that align around Market Team initiatives. Ensures the Carrier Relationship Managers are establishing the right cadence and conversations to drive growth with each carrier and push for technology advancements and book roll consolidations to maximize revenue each fiscal year. Oversee the technical execution of carrier automation to ensure service and sales volumes are supported and that the client experience is improved, thereby driving higher retention numbers. The Carrier Strategy Manager's ultimate objective is to increase awareness around the existing revenue driving carrier relationships while also ensuring growth with new and emerging products and carriers. Directs the research and analysis of business opportunities, assesses potential markets, and develops projects for use in new business initiatives. Evaluates the financial feasibility of new products and markets through studies, market research and planning. Drives Carrier tech strategy and ongoing analysis of insurance industry vs Agency focus.Responsibilities:Functions as the primary Paychex Insurance Agency point of contact for the Companys P&C and H&B carriers. Maintains a deep understanding of market level insights. Accountabilities include new business development, contract, and compensation negotiations.Leads discussions across various business units to support the development of strategy and execution of solutions aligned with strategic goals and objectives. Responsible for making policy recommendations that affect Insurance Agencys Sales and Marketing functions positively, including any profitability improvements. Monitors carrier wins/losses and overall performance.Directs carrier strategy as it pertains to commission, relationships, IT funding, automation of transactions and the execution of Market Team priorities.Responsible for taking a lead role in feasibility assessments and due diligence of an Agency captive for P&C business. Expert on the designated carrier product portfolio(s).Prepares the capital and operating budgets for the cost center(s) and analyzes interdepartmental reports as they relate to the cost center(s). Achieves cost center projections through labor expense and administrative expense controls.Recruits, selects, hires and evaluates performance of personnel to ensure all department needs are handled appropriately. Counsels and develops staff for personal and corporate advancement through career development, training programs and other resources as required for professional advancement.Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Health & Wellness - RequiredMaster's Degree in Business Administration - Preferred4 years of experience in Sales and Marketing.3 years of experience in Demonstrated benefits industry work experience, including benefits strategy and account management/relationship experience.Demonstrates project management skills.Demonstrates analytical skills.Life Accident and Health license - RequiredRelevant Insurance License Functions as the primary Paychex Insurance Agency point of contact for the Companys P&C and H&B carriers. Compensation:In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay range for this position is $105,000.00 to $160,000.00 annually plus bonuses. Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
