Overview:

JobForce is currently seeking a Procurement Manager. As a Procurement Manager, your primary responsibility will be to oversee supplier sourcing for EV (Electric Vehicle) and HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle) projects in North America. You'll manage various activities related to supplier evaluation, localization, cost negotiation, and contract management. Your expertise in automotive procurement and knowledge of sub-component suppliers will be crucial for success in this role.

Responsibilities:

Supplier Discovery and Evaluation:

Identify suitable suppliers of sub-components/parts within North America.Evaluate new suppliers and expand the North American supplier pool.Ensure compliance with USMCA (United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement) conditions.

Localization and Cost Management:

Achieve target prices for sub-components/parts.Ensure adherence to required specifications and quality standards.Focus on sub-components/parts related to EV/HEV applications (e.g., Motor, Inverter, Reducer gearbox, Transmission).

Price Calculation and Negotiation:

Collect quotations from North American suppliers for each project.Analyze costs and negotiate prices with suppliers.Report quoted prices to headquarters (HQ).

Bidding and Supplier Nomination:

Participate in bidding processes.Nominate suppliers based on evaluation and negotiation outcomes.

Contract Management:

Review and modify supplier contracts.Ensure fulfillment of purchasing, delivery, and quality requirements.

KPI Establishment and Team Management:

Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for the Purchasing/Procurement organization.Manage the procurement team effectively.

Qualifications:Experience:

Minimum 10 years of Purchasing/Procurement experience in the automotive industry.Familiarity with North American carmakers (preferably the "big 3") and Transmission companies (e.g., ZF, Aisin).High knowledge of Transmission/motor/inverter sub-component suppliers.Experience with EV and HEV (Transmission) projects.

Location:

On-site work in Rochester Hills, Michigan (no work-from-home option).

Reporting Line:

Reports to HQ Purchasing Director, HQ Purchasing Division Director, and CEO.Coordinates with HQ TFT (Target, Focus, Timing) team for purchasing competitiveness.Collaborates with the Local Purchasing Coordinator in Michigan.

Main Duties for Localization:

Development of New Local Suppliers:

Investigate potential suppliers, assess quality, and evaluate response levels for mass production.Foster quality and development capabilities of suppliers.Review design specifications and negotiate piece prices.Explore collaboration opportunities for strategic or long-term partnerships.

Price Competitiveness Measures:

Utilize existing local companies' resources (machines, factories) to minimize new investment costs.

Encouraging Korean Companies:

Review relationships with suppliers' other project volumes.Suggest strategic cost-saving measures to reduce supplier investment risks.

Benchmarking and Information Sharing:

Investigate cost reduction factors and gather value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE) ideas.Share insights related to production lines and localization.

Prime Cost Data Management:

Collect and manage data on raw materials, wage rates, and other expense items to establish local prime cost standards.

Bidding and Contract Signing:

Participate in bidding processes and nominate suppliers.Sign purchasing contracts.
