MAIN FUNCTION: Performs, calculates, records and report laboratory analysis in multiple sections of the laboratory such as blood bank, serology, hematology, chemistry microbiology, histology and urinalysis for purpose of treatment and disease.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Performs a variety of tests to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease. Correlates and interprets tests within department. Informs nursing floors and/or physicians of abnormal results.
Performs required routine maintenance of equipment, notifies Section Head or Manager of needed non-routine repairs and replacements.
Maintains responsibility for attendance/reliability to ensure that the hospital is operated in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
EDUCATION: Associates or Bachelors in Medical Technology/Biological Science; ASCP Certified Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician.
EXPERIENCE: Experience preferred, but not required
