An established and active commercial real estate developer based in Houston who is breaking into the multifamily space.

Job Description

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Support all aspects of the Development platform.Collaborate with Managing Partner and VP of Development on new site acquisition due diligence, and planning.Develop and maintain project schedules.Create and oversee permit matrix for each project.Provide data to inform pro forma costs associated with executing capital projects.Manage contracts with consultants for services including architecture, engineering, survey, geotechnical, etc.Review technical reports including but not limited to: geotechnical studies, environmental assessments, drainage studies, traffic studies, civil drawings, and title and survey deliverables.Prepare for and attend meetings with city councils, planning commissions, community workshops, and MUD board meetings.Engage with MUD engineers, attorneys, and financial advisors to pursue reimbursement for public infrastructure.Lead the design process with the architects, engineers, contractors, and all consultants to ensure project is on schedule and within the budget.Coordinate and lead weekly progress meetings.Oversee the delivery of public infrastructure and retail buildings including tenant obligations.Support Leasing and Legal teams during tenant lease negotiations to ensure development obligations are met.Ensure a smooth transition of each project from Development to Property Management.Utilize Procore for external consultant coordination and document control.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. The Successful Applicant

Qualifications

The candidate will work independently in the execution of all aspects of assigned multifamily projects. The individual will have an understanding of and learn all aspects of the development process and be expected to develop a strong track record as a Development Manager. The ideal Development Manager candidate will meet these qualifications:

Knowledge and experience in multifamilyBachelor's degree, or comparable experience, in real estate, urban planning,architecture, construction management, or a related field.3-5+ years of experience in real estate development.Demonstrated success in development projects.Comprehensive understanding of the development process from concept to completion.Experience in planning, building, and reimbursing public infrastructure.Proficiency in creating schedules and Gantt charts in MS Project.Technical knowledge of permitting for infrastructure and commercial buildings.Ability to review and extract critical information from legal contracts, leases, andgovernment ordinances.Capable of managing multiple projects and budgets simultaneously.Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Licensed architect or engineer preferred.Familiarity with Procore.

What's on Offer

The base salary will depend on overall experience but will range from $100,000 - $140,000. This role will also include an additional compensation bonus. Excellent benefits. Great team culture.
