Speech Language Pathologist - Part-Time - Advanced Health

Job Summary:
Works as a healthcare professional at and in accordance with the limitations and scope of care in accordance with the applicable state practice act. Performs evaluations and develops effective Speech Language Pathology treatment plans to restore, maintain or prevent decline of patient function, by planning and administering medically prescribed therapy treatments in accordance with federal, state and professional standards. The SLP must also be able to set realistic and achievable goals for their patients as well as document and record the patient's condition using the correct documentation.
Duties and Responsibilities: Provides patient care as a Speech Language Pathologist to patients in assigned facility (or facilities). Assists in the assessment, treatment, and implementation of patient care in accordance with the State Practice Act specific to the state in which the assignment is located. Evaluates patient's speech and language abilities and level of function. Develops treatment plans, including short and long-term goals and methods to achieve identified goals. Provides treatment as ordered by the attending physician. Submits written documentation including evaluations, daily notes, weekly summaries and discharge summaries for hospital records. Perform related duties and responsibilities as required. Properly and accurately documents/charts observations and other data related to the clinical condition of the patient. Knowledge and Skills Required:
Ability to read and comprehend patient information. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Education and Work Experience: Graduate of an accredited speech language pathology curriculum. Licensed (or eligible for licensure) as required in the state of Ohio. Able to practice speech therapy per state guidelines. One year of recent clinical experience preferred. Certifications:
Certifications appropriate to the position and clinical setting if any.
Environmental/Working Conditions:
Work is performed in an open are with other PT's and PTA's. Work may be stressful at times.
Physical/Mental Demands:
Bend, twist and lift to assist a patient. Coordination, balance, and strength to safely guard and protect a patient.
