Position Overview
The Reliability Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing the reliability engineering function within Arclin. This role involves leading a team of reliability engineers to ensure the reliability, availability, and maintainability of our products and processes. The manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies that drive performance improvements and support operational excellence. This role will report to the Sr. Director of Capital & Reliability Engineering.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership and Management
Lead and mentor a team of reliability engineers, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure professional development and high performance.Develop and manage team objectives, performance metrics, and development plans.Foster a collaborative team environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.Reliability Engineering StrategyDevelop and implement reliability engineering strategies and methodologies to enhance product performance and process efficiency.Define reliability goals and objectives aligned with the company's overall business strategy.Lead efforts to establish and maintain reliability standards, best practices and processes, and continuous improvement.Reliability Analysis and ImprovementOversee the execution of reliability analysis including Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM).Analyze failure data, identify trends, and develop actionable plans to improve product and process reliability.Work with product development teams to integrate reliability considerations into the design and development phases.Cross-Functional CollaborationCollaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, and other departments to address reliability issues and drive improvements.Facilitate communication between teams to ensure alignment on reliability goals, project status, and problem resolution.Project ManagementLead and manage reliability improvement projects, including scope definition, resource allocation, project planning, execution, and reporting.Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet or exceed performance expectations.Reporting and DocumentationDevelop and maintain reliability metrics, reports, and documentation to track performance and communicate results to stakeholders.Prepare and present reports on reliability performance, improvement initiatives, and project outcomes to senior management.Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.Minimum of 15 years of industrial experience with 10 years in maintenance and reliability engineering, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial or leadership role.Proven experience in reliability analysis, problem-solving, and continuous improvement methodologies.Skills and CompetenciesStrong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.In-depth knowledge of reliability engineering principles, tools, and techniques.Proficiency in reliability analysis software and tools.Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technical information to non-technical stakeholders.Preferred Qualifications
Certification in Reliability Engineering (CRE) or similar professional credentials.Experience in the engineered materials or manufacturing industry.Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement methodologies.Effort:
Frequent Travel (can be > 50% of time).Self-motivated and self-directed.Interface with plant and corporate management.Ability to adjust to changing demands and requirement.Persistence in maintaining engineering principles and code requirements.Computer operations for extended periods.Take part/lead meetingsCommunicate with contractors and vendorsTime and effort required to meet specified deadlinesStrong Desire to learnWhat We Offer
