My client, a leading chemical manufacturing company is seeking a Procurement Sustainability Category Leader to join their dynamic team. This is a hybrid position located in the Chicago area (Elmhurst).
Procurement Sustainability Category Leader – Reporting to the VP of Global Procurement, this position will be responsible for managing the global direct materials spend and developing and managing sustainable sourcing strategies. This is a critical position that will drive the company’s sustainability agenda.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for sustainable procurement practicesManage key raw material sourcing categoriesDevelop and implement sustainable sourcing practicesIdentify and qualify suppliers with sustainable productsReport on sustainable performance metrics including greenhouse gas emissions, waste reduction, social responsibility
The ideal candidate:
Bachelor’s DegreeStrong analytical skillsProven success in developing and implementing sustainable sourcing strategies5+ years in a procurement role in a manufacturing company – ideally chemicalExperience managing a sustainable sourcing program – experience with Ecovadis
MUST HAVE:
Experience sourcing raw materials (ideally chemicals)Experience developing and leading a sustainable sourcing program.Global sourcing experience
