Summary/Objective:
The Assistant Controller will play a vital role in ensuring the company's financial operations and reporting remain in compliance with regulatory requirements. You will support the Controller in managing financial statements, audits, and reporting for both internal stakeholders and public filings. This is an opportunity to contribute to the growth and financial integrity of a high-profile company in the entertainment industry.
Essential FunctionsAssist the Controller in overseeing accounting operations (A/R, A/P, GL, revenue recognition, etc.), ensuring compliance with public company requirements.Ensure financial accuracy in reporting for both internal stakeholders and public financial disclosures.Support quarterly, annual and interim reporting processes (10-Q, 10-K, etc.).Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations and variance analysis.Collaborate with external auditors for public company reviews and audits, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.Identify and implement process improvements in response to new regulatory and reporting standards.Maintain integrity in all financial records by identifying and correcting discrepancies and errors in financial data.Oversee and manage complex financial transactions, including revenue recognition, consolidations, non-controlling interests, foreign currency transactions, etc.Competencies
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards, with experience in SEC reporting and SOX compliance a plus.Proficiency in accounting software (NetSuite or similar) and strong Excel skills.Experience preparing financial statements.Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment, especially during periods of growth and transition.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working across departments.>
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in public company accounting (industry or public accounting) or a similar role.
$107,000 - $124,000 a year
Commensurate with experience and scope of responsibility.
