Job Description:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:"

Graduate of accredited nursing program, BSN preferred"

Must have Hawaii RN license to be considered (applicants or willingness to apply will be declined)"

Current certification in BLS/HCP; ACLS, PALS required

B. EXPERIENCE:"

Two or more years' experience as an Endoscopy RN in a comparable medical center (500+ beds, Level 1 trauma, tertiary/quaternary medical center)"

Must have 1 or more years telemetry or ICU experience prior to working in EndoscopyALL TRAVELERS MUST PROVIDE EVIDENCE OF CURRENT COVID AND FLU VACCINATION PER CDC GUIDLEINES (COVID --> BOOSTER 2023 OR LATER; FLU --> CURRENT SEASON)Travelers must complete compliance requirements and have the information uploaded to *** 10 or more days in advance of the start date.

Failure to do so will result in delaying the start date. Delayed starts due to compliance result in a shorter contract as end dates are not changed.

Additionally, only one delay is allowed. A 2nd would result in contract cancellation.Scope of Service:The Endoscopy RN works collaboratively with the physician and the anesthesia provider and also monitors the patient during conscious sedation in order to determine patient needs during Endoscopic and GI procedures. Endoscopy provides outpatient and inpatient services for pediatrics to adult patients over 18 years. The most frequent diagnoses are pain, bleeding, polyps, abnormal lab value, common bile duct stones, dysphagia, and pulmonary infiltrate. Procedures particular to this area include: EGD, Colonoscopy, ERCP, Bronchoscopy, Manometry, 24-hour pH studies--Bravo Capsule, Enteroscopy, and Endoscopic U/S. Endoscopy is a 6-procedure room, 1 outpatient testing room unit which provides Endoscopic services for routinely scheduled inpatient and outpatient procedures, and urgent add-on procedures. Patients requiring a higher level of care (Intensive Care Unit) may be treated at the bedside. The average number of procedures is 20-30/day. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 5:30 pm and Saturday and working holiday s 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. 24-hour emergency coverage is provided with an on-call RN and GI Technician.
