Working hours are generally: 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., and 10:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Supervise, motivate, monitor, and evaluate the performance and responsibilities of operators in the Plant on first, second or third shiftSupervise production activities on all shiftsCarry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Balchem Corporation's policies and applicable lawsTrain operators on various equipment and processes including: cookers, dryers and dehydrators, flaking mills, extruders, coater/dryer, Quality Assurance sampling and testing (moistures, temperatures, bulk densities, matching controls, etc.); good manufacturing practices; OSHA safety training, lockout/tag out, Sanitation, Master Sanitation Schedule, general housekeeping/line clean up, line set up, batching, and other procedures for packagingMonitor inventories and ingredient usageEnsure all paperwork is complete (including time cards on ADP) in an accurate and timely manner; ensure the documentation complies with Company standardsMonitor product quality to meet Company standardsReport to Production Manager any deviation of scheduling or quality of service that may become a potential liabilityPerform other duties as assignedAdhere to all Company policies and procedures, i.e. personnel, safety, and equipment maintenance and upkeepBecome proficient in areas of production and safety policies and procedures (accident/injury reporting, blood borne pathogens, confined spaces, emergency evacuation, equipment operation/maintenance, hazard communication, ladders, lockout/tag out, personal protective equipment, etc.)REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor of Arts/Science (BA/BS) two to three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience requiredPrevious manufacturing supervisory experience is requiredIndividual must be equipped with strong motivation, organization, time management, documentation, and communication skills (both orally and written)Must have excellent attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and prioritizeIndividual should demonstrate strong work ethics (punctual, dependable, and trustworthy)Proficiency with computer systems and software programs, especially Maximizer and Microsoft Office (Excel and Word), and be quality oriented and process orientedThe ability to utilize common sense and skills in completing responsibilities and operating equipment conforming to Company production, personnel, and safety procedures is neededThe ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, and to write simple correspondence is necessaryIndividual should possess the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization as well as communicate and handle conflict in a professional mannerThe ability to give and welcome feedback and contribute to building a positive team spirit is required#INBalchem is committed to a workplace culture that values and promotes diversity, inclusion, equal employment opportunities, and a work environment free of harassment and hostility.
