Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum 2 years of oncology experience preferred License: Must have a valid compact or state license Certifications: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Must-Have: - High acuity Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or ICU patient experience - Interpretation of dysrhythmias - Rapid response team experience - Feeding tube care and management - Port access - Blood product administration - Central line care/management - Peripheral line care/management - PICC line management - Knowledge and experience with heparin protocols - Manage cardiac drips (no titration) Job Description: - Work in a unit focused on medical oncology with high acuity PCU and ICU patients - Provide care for solid tumor, orthopedic, thoracic oncology, and patients requiring special transfusion services - Flexible scheduling with rotating weekends; no set or block schedule - Float within units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed - Use specialized equipment, including B450 monitors, GE telemetry systems, bladder scanners, Alaris pumps, Stryker beds, and more - Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls - Patient ratio typically 1:4-5 in Med Surg Telemetry, 1:3 in PCU - Opportunity for professional growth and development with comprehensive benefits package - Participate in a structured orientation and training program This opportunity requires dedication and the ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment, tailored for nurses with a strong background in oncology and critical care.
