We are seeking a proactive and self-motivated Audit Senior to join our Accounting and Assurance (A&A) Department located in our Tucson office.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Plans engagements and is responsible for bringing projects in at budget (e.g. communicates with senior staff on scheduling issues or delays in completion of a project)Assists in preparation of audit work papersCompletes analytical review procedures including documentation of expectation, results and conclusions for a simple reviewDrafts financial statements and notes for a simple compilation or reviewPerforms assigned audit procedures for specific accounts and transactionsPrepares complex tax accrual for financial statementsResearches and concludes on accounting issuesProvides assistance to senior accounting staffPerforms other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to use tax and accounting software systemsAbility to use 10-keyMust have strong written and verbal communication skillsMust have strong organizational and analytical skillsBasic knowledge and awareness of general tax issues that may arise over the course of an engagementWorking knowledge of tax and accounting research techniques and the various research sourcesWorking knowledge of MS Office, Caseware and Prosytems Fixed AssetsEducation and Experience Requirement
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, or equivalent degree as determined by the management committee, requiredMaster's Degree in Accounting or Taxation preferred150 credit hours with 30 upper division account credits preferred2 to 4 years experience in public accountingProgressive plan toward passing the CPA exam requiredPhysical Requirement and Work Environment
No physical exertion requiredRequired to sit for long periods of timeUsual office working conditions25-75% travel for field work
