Overview:

Verifies that product is acceptable to customer and internal requirements.Responsibilities:Inspects manufactured and/or purchased parts, tools and gages and completed components using Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 gages.Knows well and uses established company quality control procedures including statistical process control (SPC).Ability to both read and understands both English and metric systems for measurement.Performs gage capability studies on equipment used during Receiving Inspection (RI).Operates CMM for critical dimensions and performs layouts using various layout gages.Uses computers to collect and analyze data. (working knowledge of MS Office Suite Word / Excel )Advises area supervision of any deviation from established criteriaValidates quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes; measuring production; documenting evidence; determining operational and performance qualificationMaintains and improves product quality by completing product, company, system, compliance, and surveillance audits; investigating customer complaints; collaborating with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs, and manufacturing and training methods.Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, stability studies, recalls, corrective actions, and re-validations.Completes machine qualifications, process capability studies and R&R studiesAssists with maintaining incoming documentation from suppliers (certs, heat-treat charts, etc.)Observes all safety and health regulations. Promotes safety throughout the organization.Must communicate with peers, superiors, and supervisors in a clear and professional manner. Communication may take the form of written, e-mail & other electronic files, or verbal techniques.Follows housekeeping procedures in maintaining a neat and orderly work area adhering to 5S principles.Qualifications:

MUST BE ABLE TO WORK 3RD SHIFT (10:30PM - 6:30AM).Must be able to work overtime and weekends as required.Required computer skills needed to perform analysis work using MS excel and MS word.CMM Measurement experience preferred.Must be able to understand and follow written and spoken instructions in English.Must be able to perform close visual work.Must have solid math familiarity, including a good understanding of fractions, decimals and the Metric System.Must have solid familiarity with blueprints, process sheets and related information.Must be able to operate and interpret the following tools and equipment:

Level 1 - plug gages, snap gages, ring gages, micrometers, calipers, calculators.Level 2 - height gages, air gages, surface analyzers, optical comparators, hardness testers.Level 3 -CMM machine, geometry test equipment, measuring lab equipment, NDT equipment.

Must have an understanding of GD&T practices.Must be capable of lifting 40 pounds.Ability to set and ensure gauge set up is accurate and repeatable.Must be able to identify a problem and react to problem solving solutions in team environment.High school diploma or equivalent.Experience:Prefer minimum of 1 year experience in Quality Control or Quality Assurance in a manufacturing environment.
