Description
The Phlebotomist is primarily responsible for performing phlebotomy procedures on both inpatients and outpatients. Required to assist with providing general receptionist services for the laboratory. Assists with maintaining the cleanliness of the laboratory glassware.
PRN, As needed. Variable hours. Experience required.Successful completion of an approved phlebotomy course or one year previous experience in a hospital/clinic settingMaintain current BLS certificationRequired to have current Illinois driver's license and be able to demonstrate proof of adequate vehicle insurance when working or traveling for KSB businessOne year of experience with phlebotomy required and knowledge of EKGs preferredMust be a proficient typist. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Computer literate.High School Graduate or equivalentResponsible for the maintenance of Pathology Files and LogsDistributes pathology reports and logs to nursing stations, doctors' boxes, medical records and other appropriatelocationsProvides secretarial support to the Pathologist and Laboratory
