Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Accounting Analyst to join the By Light team. The position will interact with many different parts of the organization including finance, HR, and program management. This is a highly dynamic and visible role for the right candidate with valuable experience only otherwise gained in a rotational program.Responsibilities:Project Accounting:Read and understand various By Light contracts, processes, and procedures to appropriately setup contracts in Deltek CostpointAssist in developing an enterprise-wide strategy to setup and maintain project accounting recordsWork closely to coordinate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure agreement on key contract terms and conditions for project setup.Support monthly close process by monitoring and maintaining contract master data
AccountingSupport the month-end close and consolidation process, including inter-company activityAnalyze monthly general ledger activity and prepare commentary for financial statement reviewAssist in monitoring / reporting accounting metrics and SLAsPrepare monthly balance sheet reconciliation for review, and resolve issues as neededOther ad hoc accounting, billing, or reporting duties as assignedRequired Experience/Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in accounting or finance requiredTwo or more years of related accounting experience in the government contracting industryOne or more years of Deltek Costpoint experienceTeam player who is organized, proactive, self-directed, conscientious and assumes accountability and responsibility for specific performance and work productStrong organizational skills and attention to detail with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyAbility to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writingAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong computer skills
