MIG is currently seeking an exceptional individual for our Senior Accountant position. This key individual will report to the Assistant Controller.

PRIMARY JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work closely with and communicate with executive officers, acquisitions and underwriting teams, asset managers, and finance/accounting team. Also interface with third party management company handling property accounting.Perform initial review of operating property (industrial, office, retail, apartments, hotels) cash needs and related contribution and distribution request forms. Assume responsibility of forwarding bank transfer/wire confirmations for all properties to appropriate parties.Assist with preparation and review of weekly corporate cash forecasting reports.Prepare corporate and fund level annual budgets and rolling forecasts, including summaries and presentation books, as needed.Update and maintain property tax tracker for all properties. Coordinate property tax payments paid via wire from office.Provide budget info to management companies for property level insurance, debt service, contributions/distributions, acquisition capital and other.Review/audit acquisition and financing closing statements and related pro-rations and allocations and prepare related journal entries for all fund entities. Review and track post-closing true-up for prorations.Oversee, track and process all debt service payments made by wire and ACH debits.Prepare ACH authorization forms for newly acquired loans.Assist with review of loan draw request packages.Assist managing debt service database and loan compliance requirements, including insurance, property tax, and monthly/quarterly/annual reporting and covenant compliance.Assist in opening of new bank accounts and prepare bank documents for related online banking access and security. Maintain banking access summaries.Prepare monthly asset management and acquisition fee billings.Assist with maintaining the descriptive Chart of Accounts and updating related reports with new accounts.Responsibility for fund level accounting activity and entries, including fair value entriesReview joint venture investment accounting including recording of contributions, distributions, and profit/loss.Assist with preparation of auditor schedules for GAAP and fair value audits.Review Staff Accountant's Opportunity Fund journal entries and related tracker sheet.Review Opportunity Fund numbers on quarterly Investment Summary.Review quarterly Opportunity Fund tie out to quarterly financials and broker statements.Review Staff Accountant's cash entries.Assist in the review of the property level financial and operations package on a monthly and quarterly basis.Assist with automation of recurring reports.Lead & contribute to miscellaneous special projects as needed.Review of coding and completeness of approvals for A/P.Assist supervisors (managers, directors) as needed.QUALIFICATIONS AND QUALITIES:

Minimum Bachelor's Degree, preferably with an emphasis in AccountingFive or more years of finance/accounting experience, with 2 years corporate real estate and property management emphasis. Public accounting experience desirable.Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and relevant accounting software experience (Yardi expertise a strong plus)Self-starter and team player with ability to work independently while providing necessary status updates to supervisor(s)Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast paced, entrepreneurial work environmentProven ability to demonstrate process improvement and scale using technologyExcellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skillsStrong organization skills and proven ability to meet deadlines
