Description
We are seeking a Senior Property Accountant to manage financial operations for a portfolio of commercial properties. In this role, you'll handle monthly reporting, reconciliations, cash flow management, and ensure compliance with loan covenants. Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement commercial property and commercial parking operations accounting procedures and monthly close process, to include but not limited to review of general ledgers, processing journal entries, and preparing monthly accrualsPrepare monthly and quarterly reporting packages for properties in a timely mannerPrepare monthly bank and other balance sheet reconciliations in tandem with the reporting packagePrepare and monitor monthly debt and equity draws and manage project cash positions on a daily basisApprove and process accounts payable disbursements as neededEnsure compliance with mortgage loan covenants and reporting requirementsAssist in preparation of local, state, and federal tax returns with consultation from outside accounting firm as necessaryAssist in annual financial statement audit and reviews performed by outside CPA firmAssist in preparation of joint venture and consolidated financial statementsAssist, review, and coordinate the workflow of Lease Administrator including application of A/R adjustments and daily cash receiptsAssist property management staff with preparation of annual budget package and monthly and quarterly variance analysis to budgetSupervise property accountant and other junior staffPerform other duties as assignedSkills, Knowledge and Expertise
Bachelor's in Accounting or related field requiredCPA is a plus but not required.Minimum of 2 years of commercial real estate accounting experience requiredExperience with Yardi, or MRI preferredStrong accounting skills with in-depth knowledge of US GAAPUnderstanding of property management in relation to financial accounting, recoveries, budgeting and forecastingProficient knowledge of Microsoft excel
