Position Summary

The Acquisition Analyst / Associate will play an active role in evaluating, underwriting, and transacting a range of investment opportunities in the Bay Area, utilizing sophisticated financial models and ARGUS software. The individual will be part of an open, collaborative, and flexible workplace, supporting and working directly with the acquisitions team and Partners of the firm in all aspects of real estate investing.

Primary ResponsibilitiesPreparation and review of financial analyses for prospective real estate investments including detailed cash flow projections, market and property due diligence, financing, and partnership structuring across all asset classesAssemble and review basic property information, leases/rent roll analyses, market and economic research, legal documentation, and other applicable information for various deals and investment marketsParticipate in weekly investment committee meetings regarding potential acquisitionsActively communicate with investment sales and leasing brokerage community, business partners, lenders, and consultantsPrepare detailed investment memoranda, including a strategic business plan, for potential investorsCoordinate and manage due diligence and closing processes with legal counsel and external consultantsAnalyze and report on the financial performance of existing assets, with a developing role in asset managementAssist in the loan origination and refinance processCompetency / Skills

High level of proficiency in Excel and experience in ARGUS preferredExperience with complex financial modeling, including cash flow models, sensitivity tables, debt and equity waterfall structures, and other financial analyses required to evaluate and pursue commercial real estate opportunitiesIn-depth understanding of real estate investment factors and valuations, coupled with a general understanding of finance, accounting, leasing, and capital markets terms and conceptsExtremely strong quantitative and analytical skills with an attention to detailWell-developed written and verbal skillsExcellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently, prioritize, and multi-taskHighly motivated with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact/build relationships within the real estate community and grow within an entrepreneurial and thriving investment organizationCandidate Qualifications

Education:

BS/BA required with a preferred focus in business, mathematics, real estate, finance, computer science, or accountingExperience:

2-4 years of relevant commercial real estate or finance experience, with experience on the principal side preferredIdeal candidate will have a long-term dedication and interest in real estate with a specific focus on the Bay AreaComputer Skills:

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and OutlookCompetent in ARGUSAbility to use other software programs as requiredCertificates, Licenses, or Registrations
