Job Type Full-timeDescriptionPOSITION SUMMARYInspect machined and fabricated parts for conformance to a customer's print & specifications & PTM workmanship expectations. May be assigned to inspect raw materials and/or parts, commodities or services performed by sub-contractors to determine conformance to specification, requirements or prints.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSReasonable Accommodations StatementTo accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, each essential function satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to help enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Essential Functions Statement(s) Possess an understanding of Job Shop manufacturing process; can mentor and support production personnel in meeting functional and dimensional expectations as specified. Has the ability to determine the most effective technique for measuring a complex part. Assists in first piece off machine inspection with confidence and accuracy. Completes First Articles for Customer with accuracy. Demonstrates a working knowledge of GD&T and can apply principals of GD&T in the inspection process. Analyzes and interprets engineering or part drawings & diagrams to meet customer's specifications. Operates measuring equipment with efficiency and accuracy such as computer video measuring machine, comparator, bench gages, CMM, roundness tester, hardness tester and calipers and micrometers. Examines parts, products & materials for conformance to print & specifications, using various forms of measuring and/or examination equipment. Compare colors, shapes, textures, or visual surface of products or materials with color charts, templates, or samples to verify conformance to standards. Mark items with details such as acceptance or rejection status. Record inspection or test data as instructed, following QA established procedures. Notify supervisors and other personnel of production problems, and assist in identifying and correcting these problems. Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products, and recommend necessary corrective actions. In certain cases educational background may meet this requirement and providing a basis for on-the-job training.Computer Skills: Must be able to use a personal computer and programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel.
