Job Description

The Program Director is expected to plan and manage the day-to-day fiscal, administrative, and operational activities of Prairie View A&M University's Energy Trading Program housed in the College of Business and take on faculty responsibilities for teaching specialized courses on energy trading. The Energy Trading Program ("ETP") is designed to develop the next generation of energy professionals through a unique blend of classroom and corporate training. The Program Director will teach and assist with administration, budgetary, and/or other associated transactions, program implementation and administration, internal and external operational/administrative liaison, program marketing, and reporting.

This position is funded by grant or restricted funds. Continued employment is contingent on the renewal of grant or restricted funding.

Responsibilities

Performs faculty duties as a College Instructor for specialized ETP courses, namely, Trade Floor Dynamics, Trading Risk Management, and Internship course (one course per semester)- curriculum refinement, teaching, coordination with visiting board members, etc.Collaborates with industry advisory boards or councils and Prairie View A&M University ("PVAMU") departments for the development and continual improvement of ETP.Mentors and supports students throughout their time in ETP, as appropriate - providing guidance and preparation for application and admittance, inspiring confidence in and a passion for the energy industry, developing professional relationships to understand unique student strengths and gaps, etc.Maintains confidentiality of information regarding students, supervisors, board members, or other employees in keeping with university guidelines and policies.Serves as the champion for ETP. Reviews and coordinates the development of curriculum along with faculty. Writes, edits and develops promotional materials, educational materials, training manuals, and newsletters, as appropriate to the program, with input from the ETP Board and PVAMU.Monitors and administers program/project revenues and expenses; may develop or participate in developing funding proposals for the program, as appropriate.May perform specialized activities of a programmatic nature in direct support of the accomplishment of program objectives and protocol.Other duties as needed.

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in related field.Ten years of related experience.Appropriate academic credentials to teach within the program area.Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required

Advanced knowledge of the energy commodities industry and energy trading.Advanced knowledge of trading basics, trading psychology, and financial structuresSkill in the use-related software applications (Bloomberg, Excel, Python, ICE, etc.).Ability to create and execute a curriculum, as well as to teach and mentor students.Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities. Able to effectively prioritize and work on multiple tasks with concurrent deadlines and demonstrate excellent time management skills and efficiency.Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.Ability to coordinate and organize meetings and/or special events with a wide variety of senior stakeholders across both industry and academia.Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with various constituencies.Ability to foster college-wide partnerships to promote quality in education.Ability to lead and train assigned staff.Ability to gather and analyze statistical data, maintain dynamic records, and generate reports.Ability to interact with students, faculty and/or staff in a team environment.Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control procedures.Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree preferred.At least 10 years of industry experience directly related to energy commodities trading.A deep understanding of energy commodities (e.g. natural gas, power and renewables, oil and products, etc.) and trading mechanics (e.g. futures, derivatives, swaps and options, etc.)Experience mentoring and/or teaching in a supervisory capacity.Program and project management experience.Job Posting Close Date:
