About this roleCompiles and analyzes budget and financial information for the college in an efficient and accurate manner. Assists management in the decision-making process and strategic planning by presenting relevant financial and budget reports in a clear, concise, and timely manner. Assists departments with managing their resources and monitoring budget and accounting data to ensure compliance with statutes, regulations, and accounting principles.

What a day of a Budget Analyst looks like :Prepares and coordinates documentation of financial analysis projects such as budgets, forecasts, projections, expense performance, and presentations.Provides analytical support for forward-looking financial or business-related projects. Collects, interprets, and analyzes relevant data or metrics. Performs financial reconciliation of accounts.Assists with the preparation of various reports, including deduction registers and payroll cost allocations. Resolves any reporting issues.Makes recommendations to align policies and procedures with best practices and capitalize on financial opportunities.Performs reconciliations as needed for various accounts and budget types including personnel, positions, payroll, capital projects, and general expenses.Follows procedures for compliance with federal state, and local institutional laws and rules.Designs complex spreadsheets, with multiple function formulas and links.Assists with the preparation of the annual and other periodic budgets for a department, campus, or college. Monitors expenditure and revenue patterns and adjust the budget, as needed.Maintains accounting records for capital and expense projects. Gathers data and assists budget team with preparation of annual operating budgets.Assists in updating manuals regarding policies, procedures, rules, and standards for the College.Performs other job-related duties as assigned.We'd love to hear from you if you have the following:

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field of studyFour years of related experienceKnowledge of:

Microsoft Office Professional or similar applicationPrinciples and practices of public administration and organizationSkilled in:

Excellent fact finding and analytical skillsAttention to detail while maintaining effective time and task managementAbility to:

Effectively communicate verbally and in writing on a regular basis with internal and external customers, build relationships, manage customer expectations, and take responsibility for a high level of serviceInteract in a positive manner with diverse populations and varying education levels of students, faculty, staff, and the publicLicenses, Registration, Certifications, or Special Requirements:

The minimum base pay for this position starts at $55,208.00 annually; however, the offer may vary based on the candidate's education and experience.
