Summary This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Processional Work Category at the Full Performance Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA HC/HOSTING AND COMPUTE CENTER (HC34C2). Responsibilities Have the ability to deal effectively with personnel in presenting the policies, procedures, and methods connected with the DoD security mission. Have a familiarity with Electronic System Security (ESS)/Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS). Be familiar with in and out processing of military, civilian and contractor personnel, to include processing building passes, Common Access Cards , initial security training and controlling access to various areas controlled by the Agency. Will act as a principal advisor to the Program Security Manager on protection of facility, personnel, equipment and information. Serve as the functional area expert on personnel, physical and OPSEC security. Monitor tasks and oversee operations within a sensitive compartmented information facility (SCIF). Conduct system audits and evaluate reports of alleged security violations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below. Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-12, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Develop, implement, integrate, apply, and manage a multi-faceted security program to include physical, personnel, information, industrial, and intelligence and IT security pertaining to SCI within the organization. Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement. Education There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experience at the GG-12 grade level. It is being recruited under 10 U.S.C. 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system. If you are a current Federal Career/Career-Conditional employee, you will be placed on an Excepted appointment. This appointment does not confer eligibility to be non-competitively converted to an appointment in the competitive service. Salary range includes a Targeted Local Market Supplement (TLMS) in accordance with Section 1599f of Title 10 U.S.C. and Department of Defense Instruction (DoDI) 1400.25, Volume 3006. A three year trial period may be required if you have not previously completed a trial or probationary period in the excepted or competitive service. Telework availability will be based upon the mission requirements and supervisory determination Individuals tentatively selected for drug testing designated positions at the Defense Information Systems Agency will be required to submit to urinalysis for illegal drugs prior to appointment or placement. This position has been identified as a Defense Security Position (DSP) in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) Manual 3305.13-M, 'DoD Security Accreditation and Certification' and selectees will be required to meet the certification requirements of the Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) program. As such, the individual selected for this position must obtain and/or maintain a Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC). Upon appointment to this position selectees will have two years to meet the applicable SPeD certification requirements and will be required to sign a statement acknowledging the SFPC requirements and agreeing to permit the DoD to access and monitor the certification qualifications associated with this position. Incumbent will be required to report to work or relocate to a new duty location, within the United States, in times of local/national emergency.
