OVERVIEWCadrex is searching for a Quality Inspector II to directly support site manufacturing practices through development, evaluation, and continual improvement of processes using quality concepts, principles, and methodologies with the goal of consistently meeting or exceeding customer expectations of quality.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESUse measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, steel rulers, pin gages, surface plate, and height gageRead and interpret blueprintsVisual inspection of product according to customer requirements Inspect and or test in-process product as well as finished product Document inspection results by completing required reports/logs Identify and quarantine all non-conforming productGenerate and summarize non-conforming reports for discrepant productKeep measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and identify and address issues with equipment that may need repairInspect and approve incoming materials where and when needed by confirming they meet specificationsAttend department meetings as requiredInspect and release products for shipping by ensuring proper documentation or certifications are provided as outlined by customer requirements. (Visual & Dimensional verification may be required) Learn and assist with dimensional verification of PPAP and 1st article partsCreate internal Control Plans in accordance with customer and Advanced Laser requirementsOperate FARO & Micro-Vu measurement equipment Provide direct support to the production floor by assisting with interpretation and development of manufacturing related documentation and providing proper measuring techniquesAssist with calibration procedures and provide calibration of measuring equipment as outlined by site procedures and ISO StandardLead and train Level I inspectors as needed to increase performance Train, identify, and implement lean process and project improvements RequirementsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSUnderstand industry safety standards and quality expectations3 or more years working in a metal fabrication environment under a continuous improvement QMS with hands on inspection preferredRead and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Write simple correspondenceAbility to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employeesAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret graphsKnowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, e-mail software and the use of the internetEDUCATIONHigh school diplomaAssociate degree in related field preferred LOCATIONOnsiteSCHEDULE M-FWORK ENVIRONMENTWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration.
